DIMITRIOS TADE
Dimitrios Tade (b. 1990, Athens) creates work that focuses on a universe of characters drawn from his imagination. He brings to life mythical heroes, who pop out from the canvas with forms derived from animals and monsters, to robots and dinosaurs. His creatures, often gesturing enthusiastically with a point off to the side, appear almost encouraging as they seem to inhabit an extra-dimensional space upon raw canvas. Influenced heavily by artists such as Joe Bradley, Tade incorporates negative space and layers of color to render lively and familiar structures with a gestural style. His paintings explore imagined realities and the limitless bounds of his own creative vision.
